Financing Your Care
The Postpartum Den is a private pay postpartum intensive behavioral health program. We know the cost of care is a real factor for families, so we like to communicate our financial structure so it is simple and predictable for clients.
Private Pay With Structured Payment Plans
Our program uses a straightforward private pay model.
Our program fee is agreed on before admission
No surprise facility charges later
Clear services and payment schedule in writing
For families that need assistance, we offer payment plans so the cost can be spread over the course of treatment rather than being paid all at once. There is no interest. There are no outside financing companies built into this payment plan. It is an agreement between your family and The Postpartum Den. A typical structure looks like:
An initial payment at admission
Two or three scheduled payments across the following weeks
Health Savings Accounts And Flexible Spending Accounts
HSAs + FSAs
Many families use tax advantaged accounts to help pay for care.
If you have:
A Health Savings Account
A Flexible Spending Account
you can often use those funds for outpatient mental health services, including intensive outpatient treatment.
How this helps:
Contributions reduce taxable income
You are effectively using pre tax dollars to pay part or all of the program fee
Your real after tax cost can be significantly lower than the number on the invoice
You can usually pay us directly from your HSA or FSA card or submit receipts through your plan. Your HSA or FSA administrator can confirm what they will allow.
CareCredit And Other Medical Financing
Some families prefer a longer runway than our internal payment plan provides. For those situations, you may choose to use an external medical financing option.
CareCredit
A health care credit line used for medical and behavioral health care. Families apply directly with the lender. If approved, the lender pays us and you repay them over time according to their terms.
CarePayment
A patient financing program that offers extended payment options for medical bills. If available and you are approved, CarePayment pays us, and you make structured payments to them over time.
For both,
Application and approval are between you and the lender
Terms, interest, fees, and promotional offers are set by the lender
We are paid at the time of service, and you manage repayment with them
This is optional. You are not required to use outside financing. It is simply another tool for families who want more time to spread payments.
Out Of Network Insurance And Superbills
The Postpartum Den is out of network with commercial insurance plans.
What we do:
Provide detailed superbills with diagnosis codes, service codes, and dates of service
Help you understand how to submit those to your plan for possible out of network reimbursement
Answer questions if your insurance company asks for additional paperwork or clarification related to our documentation
What we do not do:
Use your insurance as the primary payment method
Bill your plan directly as part of standard operations
Guarantee that your plan will reimburse you
Base admission decisions on what your plan might pay
Most families use a mix of:
Internal payment plan
HSA or FSA funds
Personal savings or credit
Optional medical financing if they want a longer term repayment structure
During your intake we will:
Walk through the program fee
Outline payment plan options
Clarify how HSA or FSA can be used
Explain how and when superbills are generated
